I've just read it -- thank you so much. It's such an interesting and intelligent response to the book -- which is the most any writer can hope for. I love the way you draw parallels between the in and outs of the plot, and of the Menabilly itself. Because you're right -- the house (Rebecca's house) is a reflection of the structure of the novel, as well as du Maurier's internal landscape and emotional terrain.

Sorry -- just re-read my comment, which is full of typing errors! But hope you understand what I was trying to say...

Great review Helen. This one is definitely on my 'must buy' list.

(And a comment from the author! How cool is that!)

Helen - you write a brilliant review of 'Daphne'. I shall pop over the library at lunchtime. I really want to read this - it sounds like just my type of book.

The plot is clever and original by the sound of it.

Karen and Annie - yes, you must read it and let me know what you think. It's fabulous.
