My 2008 ...

... Writing Resolutions

I will write ‘Accidentally On Purpose’ at least to the end of first draft.

I will continue to write short stories, but I will be more focussed about where I send them.

I will try to get at least one more autobiographical/family history piece accepted for publication – hopefully 'John’s War'.

I will read more.

D and I will go to the theatre. Instead of just walking past, looking at the posters and saying, ‘That looks good, we should go and see that’, we actually will go.

I will listen to the Welshman. If he tells me not to waste time on certain things, then I won’t. The Welshman is always right.

I will write to my own agenda and not anyone else’s.

I will attend a Della Galton writing course.

I will find a nice way to tell Smudge that he isn’t allowed to sit on the computer keyboard, or to walk across my desk kicking piles of paper on to the floor.

So, better get on with trying to do at least some of that then!

I love your writing resolutions.

It has to be about focus. Yes it all comes down to focus. You must focus, I must focus, we all must focus *evil laugh*

Good luck and keep us informed.

I have a novel to write in 9 months! Eeeeek!

I am just clearing my desk so I can concentrate on what my own goals will be for 2008 without a ton of clutter around me. Good luck with your goals.

Good luck with your goals, Helen. Who, though, is The Welshman? I'm very intrigued.

Caroline - can we get special 'focus' glasses do you think?

Helen - aagh I still haven't tidied my writing room! I must though, so that I can set up my new toy - the scanner!

Sally - the Welshman is my lovely lodger/friend who helps to keep me sane and shares cat-sitting responsibilities!

Seeing how well-focussed this list is, it doesn't look like you'll be needing those special glasses.

A Della Galton course sounds fun. I've toyed with the idea myself, so I'd love to know how you get on.

You already know how to stop Smudge kicking papers off your desk, don't you...?

Good luck with those wonderful resolutions.

Ah! He does sound nice. We all need someone cheering us on.

Leigh - course is in February so I will report back!
I could always send Smudge to live with you and Rudy I suppose ! ;)

Wayne - thank you. You'll all have to hold me to them!

Sally - yes, he's lovely. I'm very lucky to have found a lodger that I already knew and knew I liked!

What lovely positive resolutions!
I had to google Della Galton but she sounds good. Are you going down to Bournemouth??

The welshman sounds a star. The only lodger I ever had, used all the bog paper and didn't pay his rent on time:-( (and he was Welsh too!!!)

Let me know how you get on with keeping Smudge off the keyboard. As it gets colder, the more The Man Cat wants to sit on the keys.

Loving your focus Helen. I'm inspired now to put my 2008 Focus Goggles on:-)
xx

All the best with your resolutions! I have yet to make any... Maybe one day I will accomplish something! :-)

Good. A plan. Resolutions.

I need to do the same.

But the only thing on my list all year will be 'Make Resolutions'

That is how organised I am!

I bet he wasn't really Welsh, Lane. He was probably just pretending. Us Welsh people would never do such a thing ...;-)

Lane - yes, I'm going to have a mini break and take my focus glasses with me!

Dave - it remains to be seen whether I actually keep any of them!

Pacha - you will get there sweetie - you will!

Sally - I share your disbelief that a Welsh person could do such a thing!
